Oil on stretched canvas
Original artwork by Judith Ann Miller
An examination of how we synthesize our environments, this collection focuses on the psychological impact of color depending on context. With this piece you have the under painting of blue (piety/tranquility), red (anger) and white (faith/innocence) with a top coat of purple that represents male power and wealth. The female figure represents Brigid the Catholic saint, but also the irish pagan diety. She was the embodiment of nature, keeper of the secret flame- all her who crossed her garden without permission were cursed. Orange is the color of Brigid (also endurance/strength) while aqua is for healing and protection.
